We’ve asked for your craziest crypto story. These are the winners

Last month, Tradelize and Cointelegraph teamed up to host a contest to hear the craziest stories about your cryptocurrency – drawing attention to some of your biggest successes and failures.

You weren’t disappointed… and picking a winner isn’t possible. Hence, we have chosen two – with the lucky ones sharing the 5,000 USDT prize between them.

The first story comes from Timofei, who received a $ 100 gift from his grandmother in Russia. He decided to invest in crypto – all while he pursued his dream of becoming a director in the film school.

Timofei was able to use the profits he generates from his investment to fund the filming of a movie he is making on his course, with his grandmother serving as the lead producer. His work was a success – and as well as attending the Swiss film festival, it was also shown at Moscow’s Museum of Modern Art.

“This is a living dream, because I don’t expect anything,” he wrote in his story.

His grandmother lives in a remote village where internet access is limited – meaning he needs to put his cell phone in clay cups to receive a signal. These days, Timofei says he is carefully dealing daily with the ambition of filming a graduate movie. He could also return $ 100 to his grandmother and buy her a TV for her birthday.

Ending his powerful story, he wrote: “I don’t always close profitable trades, but I always try to keep myself in hand and learn from my mistakes step by step. After all, for me, the stock chart is a metaphor for life, with its ups and downs. Invest well, watch art movies and take care of the ladies! “

A missed opportunity

Another winner was chosen by Cointelegraph from Cryptonaut, who competed in local Counter-Strike tournaments at internet cafes in 2011, when Bitcoin was trading at around $ 1.

He wrote: “My team and I reached the finals after many razor thin matches.

It fell into a two-on-one situation where I accidentally killed my teammates with some friendly flames. Needless to say we lost the match.

“The winning team received almost 500 dollars in cash. When we finished runner-up, we received 20 BTC each. At that time, I really didn’t know what a cryptocurrency really was. I traded my 20 BTC for a gaming touchpad. “

Cryptonaut still has a touchpad to this day – But naturally, he thought about what might have happened. If he held the crypto vault, it would be worth more than $ 1.2 million at the time of writing… 2,400 times more than 500 dollars worth.

Tradelize CEOs and Wootrade partners shared their experiences. Anton Zapolskyi disclosure how he first learned about Bitcoin, while Jack Tan shared An upbeat story from the dark days of crypto winter in 2018.

A memorable contest

Cointelegraph’s managing editor, Kristina Lucrezia Cornèr, says that selecting the competition winners has not been an easy feat.

She added: “We all know the cryptocurrency market has been dramatic over the past decade – and this contest with Tradelize shows that there are also plenty of highs and lows for early adopters. . We have seen stories of people who achieved financial independence by accepting Bitcoin… and who missed the life-changing profit after selling in the early days. As the total market capitalization increased to $ 2 trillion, the next chapter of the crypto revolution is just beginning and the rest of the story is not yet written.
