What Do You Wear for Fun Dinners/Brunches/Drinks? | Cup of Jo

We’ve talked about romantic dates and dates with our kids. But what about evenings out with friends? When grabbing drinks with Gemma or heading to a chatty ladies’ dinner (no husbands allowed), I love wearing something pretty that makes me feel like myself. Reformation has a ton of new spring pieces, so here are a few pairings…

For grabbing lunch on a weekend, I might go for block heels with a silk V-neck. The floral pattern lends a touch of romance, but the croc-embossed leather adds some edge. Also, I like how the sandals have a low heel, so after lunch, you can walk around together and people watch, without any blisters.

For a picnic situation, I’d pair a gingham dress with simple flat sandals. Can we take a second to admire the twist detail? Flats are great for traveling, too, and I would wear these All. Summer. Long.

When heading to a movie, channel the word ‘breezy.’ I love these slides (they come in three colors) and this floral dress. If it’s chilly, this look would be perfect underneath this jacket.

For a ladies’ dinner to discuss books, movies, marriage and sex, I’d choose colorful heels. (How gorgeous is the papaya shade and those ruched details?) They’d pair well with a cute top and comfy jeans.

For my favorite kind of friend date — a dessert date — I’d choose a sweet top and polished flats. Bonus: You could also double these patent flats as everyday work shoes.

For more outfit ideas, check out Reformation’s spring collection. Their pieces are made from low-impact materials and repurposed vintage clothing, and are created in their L.A. factory and other sustainable partner factories around the world. Reformation can answer “who made our clothes” at every level of the supply chain.

Thoughts? Which look would you wear? I’m also into this spring top and some fun platforms. Also, overalls!
